What's for Dinner?

Well, I thought I knew what I was having for dinner. That was until I walked into our kitchen 20 minutes ago where one of my colleaugues was heating up her lunch. It smelled so good! She told me she got the recipe from a CinWeekly feature, CinCook. It's a fast(er) version of Chicken Tikka Masala. So that's what I'm having for dinner (and lunch tomorrow). Yum...

What are you going to cook/grab/reheat/nuke tonight?

chicken baked in bacon, onion, garlic and wine sauce. roasted potatoes and broccoli on the side.

Tikka masala sounds really good. I'd suggest using chili powder instead of cayenne and skip on paprika. It's an European spice, not generally used in Indian cooking.

I have the cabernet pot roast from Trader Joe's in the crock pot right now. I plan to serve that with bag salad, and some cous cous. Another meeting after work, so I had to plan ahead and do something that wouldn't take long when I got home.

I know, didn't that recipe look good? I'm going to try it as soon as I pick up some yogurt (and I might try subbing out the heavy cream for light coconut milk to cut down on the fat).

Tonight will probably be soup and grilled cheese at the boyfriend's house. (I should post on my blog sometime about the art of grilled cheese. There really is one.)

Oh, yes... Grilled cheese. An art, indeed.

Have you ever heard of/made the "Gossip Girl" grilled cheese? Ha! I don't watch the show, but I know of the sandwich...

When I first read this post quickly, I thought you saw your colleaugue HEAVING up her lunch.

I'm having leftover stir-fried shrimp and vegetables wrapped in a soft taco.

Did you read about that sandwich in CiN? Because I wrote about it! I spent $12 on truffle oil just to try it out.

OK, apparently I did NOT make the official GG Grilled Cheese. Mine was simpler. It was still delicious.

No, but that's funny! I actually first saw it on the premiere of the show. (Never watched it again... The sandwich was the most interesting thing about it, in my opinion.) Then I saw info about it on GrubStreet and Zagat...

I want a grilled cheese. Now. :) My favorite is gruyere, gouda and sliced apple on a good, thick bread. Yum.
